Henry Shefflin named in Kilkenny team for Cork clash

Meanwhile Cillian Buckley will start in midfield for the Cats.

THE BOSS MIGHT be playing Nowlan Park this weekend, but the King will line out for Kilkenny in Semple Stadium after Henry Shefflin was named in the starting XV for their All Ireland Hurling Quarterfinal clash with Cork this Sunday.

Shefflin, who has been struggling for fitness all season, takes his place alongside Richie Hogan and Walter Walsh in the full forward line.

The Kilkenny midfield also gets an overhaul from the team which beat Waterford in the qualifiers as Eoin Larkin move in to the half forward line in place of Matthew Ruth. Instead, Dicksboro’s Cillian Buckley will be joined by Michael Fennelly in the midfield as the Ballyhale Shamrock player replaces Michael Rice.

KILKENNY: Eoin Murphy (Glenmore); Paul Murphy (Danesfort), JJ Delaney (Fenians) Jackie Tyrell (James Stephens); Tommy Walsh (Tullaroan), Brian Hogan (O’Loughlin Gaels), Kieran Joyce (Rower Inistioge); Cillian Buckley (Dicksboro), Michael Fennelly (Ballyhale Shamrocks); Colin Fennelly (C) (Ballyhale Shamrocks); Richie Power (Carrickshock), Eoin Larkin (James Stephens); Walter Walsh (Tullogher Rosbercon), Richoe Hogan (Danesfort), Henry Shefflin (Ballyhale Shamrocks)
